Membership Information


Why Join the IABM?

General Eligibility Requirements - All Categories
  • Company eligibility must be approved by Membership.
  • Company and its representatives must adhere to the IABM Code of Ethics, unless Code is in conflict with local laws.
  • Company and it's representatives must agree to work in the best interest of the IABM and its members.
  • Company must pay application fee and membership dues within IABM deadlines.

Voting Memberhsip


Monitoring Company Members

A company engaged in the business of broadcast monitoring:
  • Must at least record, log and sell monitoring services to the business public.
  • Must have been in business for at least one year
  • Must have no restrictive or exclusive license, with any broadcaster, that would limit or preclude another monitoring company from recording, logging and selling coverage of that broadcaster.
  • When confirmed, that company will thereafter have one and only one vote in all affairs of the association, which shall be cast by the president of that company or his/her designee.
Monitoring Company Members shall have (via the person vested with their vote) the right to:
  • hold office
  • to serve as a committee chair or member
  • to make motions
  • to attend and participate in the association's annual meetings
  • to receive the mailings of the association
  • to be listed on the IABM Web Site
  • and to receive one complete copy of the association's annual directory.
Member companies may not transfer their membership to any company without the approval of the membership committee.

Annual Dues: First Year $437.50 US (then $337.50 US each year after)

Non-Voting Memberships


Affiliate Members

Any Monitoring Company Member may also have separate affiliate memberships for additional individuals from within their company.

Affiliate members will have no vote, but are eligible to:
  • hold office
  • serve as committee chairs or members
  • make motions
  • attend and participate in the association's annual meetings
  • receive one copy each of the association's annual directory
An affiliate member who is elected to office will not have the right to vote unless the monitoring company which they represent has transferred that right to him/her.

Affiliate members may have their memberships transferred to another person within their company by addressing a request to the secretary of the association, but they may not transfer any elected office or committee position they hold.

Annual Dues: $25.00 US
Associate Members

Any company or individual that does not meet all of the criteria to be either a voting or affiliate member, but is engaged in some form of broadcast monitoring or recording, and that has no restrictive or exclusive license, with any broadcaster, that would limit or preclude another monitoring company from recording, logging, and selling coverage of that broadcaster may apply for membership as an associate.

Associate members will have no vote and will not be listed on the IABM Web Site, but are eligible to:
  • serve as committee members
  • attend and participate in the association's annual meetings
  • receive the mailings of the association
  • receive one complete copy each of the association's annual directory
Associate members may have their memberships transferred to other people within their companies by addressing requests to the secretary of the association.

Memberships of individual associate members not affiliated with any company are not transferable.

Annual Dues: First Year $395.00 US (then $295.00 US each year after)
Supporting Members

Any company or individual that does not meet the criteria for Voting, Affiliate, or Associate membership, may join the association as a Supporting member.

Supporting members would:
  • be listed on the IABM Web Site
  • receive mailings of the association
  • and be invited to the association’s annual meetings.
Annual Dues: $550.00 US (then $450.00 US each year after)
